design-to-build desk

The Sebastian desk was design / build commission by a family member. I was asked to design a sturdy desk made from easily sourced materials and create a set of drawings which were clear enough for a first time furniture maker to follow. The desk is made from marine ply for the top and cabinet, pine and Tasmanian hardwood for the legs. A continuous wall of dowels provide ventilation for the PC that was stored underneath the desk. The design primarily features mortice and tenon joins as requested by the client.
